(221198003)Compelling therapeutic success with cold air as low as -30°C
Cryo 7 is the perfect system for cooling tissue and skin. An important therapeutic
characteristic of cold air therapy is contact-free cooling. The level of water vapour in the air decreases as the temperature decreases and thus thecold air of the Cryo represents a dry treatment with an outlet temperature as low as -30°C. As a result, the risk of frostbite is reduced to a minimum. During cold air application – in contrast to the application of cold packs or ice bags – no moist layer of vapour forms on the skin which would make longer-lasting cooling more difficult. Cooling with cold air is therefore more effective.
In laser or IPL applications, the uniformly cold air that is chilled down to ‑30°C is proven to reduce pain. The laser beam or the intensively pulsed light is not impaired by the accompanying cold air therapy.
Broad spectrum of applications
Cold air therapy is suitable for brief, fast and intensive cooling of the skin as well as for longer periods of moderate cooling in order to decrease the temperature in deeper layers of tissue.
Treatment support through combination with cold air
Cryotherapy can be combined with a variety of other treatments, for example, to improve movement therapy by prior application of cold air (15-20 min). Other combination possibilities include:
- Combination with compression in cases of acute injuries
- Treatment of muscular trigger points incombination with stretching
Sports medicine and traumatology
Many sports physiotherapists and sports medicinespecialists use cold air preventively for prophylactic early-stage treatment immediately following major exertion during sports before symptoms occur, such as after a competitive event.
