Visiting Hours: Your visitors are always welcome.   If you have visitors before 10 a.m. or after 8 p.m., it may be appropriate to utilize common areas so not to disturb your roommate(s).   Feel free to request any special accommodations necessary to facilitate your visits with loved ones.

Personal Belongings: Upon admission, an inventory of your personal belongings will be made.   Please be sure that this inventory is updated any time that new personal items are brought in to the Center.   The Center will not be responsible for any item that is not documented.

Use of Personal Furniture or Small Appliances: Prior approval is needed from Administration when bringing in any personal furniture or small appliances.   This will assist us in meeting compliance issues and space criteria.

Dietary: All food items need to be checked and approved by the Charge Nurse.   This will assist us in conforming to the resident's prescribed diet.   Perishable foods need to be consumed or disposed of immediately due to limited food storage space.   All other food items that are approved must be properly stored and placed in sealed containers.

Laundry: Western Healthcare Center does provide laundry services, however, some families do request that they be responsible for their resident's laundry.   Should the Center be responsible, the family must provide an air-tight sealed container that will be placed inside the resident's closet.   Should the family be responsible, the family must pick up all soiled laundry daily.

Telephone Availability: Please know that a telephone is available for your use, which gives you privacy and comfort.   ROOM 104 has been set aside as the residents' private sitting room.   You are invited to use this room when visiting with your family, want to rest quietly in a comfortable chair, or use the phone in private.   Please take advantage of these comforts.   However, NO SMOKING is allowed in this room which is inside of the Hospital.

Televisions: Please be considerate of roommate(s) and other residents when watching TV after 9 p.m.   There is a TV located in the common area in the Center that you are welcome to use if you find your roommate(s) is disturbed by your TV use.   We will also make every attempt to make room changes if you find your likes are incompatible with your roommate(s).   Please do not hesitate to let the staff know if you have any needs in this area.

Smoking: This is a smoke-free facility.   Supervised smoke breaks are scheduled.   Refer to the Smoking Policy sheet for more information regarding the policies and smoke schedule.
