In 2017, Malaysia took a non-alcoholic steatohepatitis patient from a local hospital. The experimental group took 700 mg of silymarin three times a day, and the other group took a placebo. After 48 weeks, the mean hepatic AST and platelet ratio index of the experimental group was significantly reduced, and liver fibrosis was decreased (22.4%), which was higher than 6% of the placebo group.
- Treatment of cirrhosis [2]
87 of 170 cirrhosis patients were treated with 140 mg of silymarin three times daily, and the rest were given a placebo. After 41 months, the 4-year survival rate was 58 ± 9% in the experimental group and 39 ± 9% in the placebo group.
